Nicolletta, AKA Camila g. Jettar, is a 23 year-old femme-fatale photographer from Montevideo, Uruguay. A double threat behind and in front of the lens, Camila takes raw, sexy photos that contain just enough fuck you to be effortlessly cool and naturally trashy without sacrificing any intimacy or forcing a style that isn’t already there.

Vandal City

Big ups to everyone who came out to The Cheaper Show on Saturday, it was a massive success and a damn good party. Here are some samples from the series of prints I produced for the show, entitled Vandal City. This series sold out, but I’ll definitely be doing a sequel in the near future, which will be the product of what I think will be a very hype collaboration between myself and two other Vancouver-based artists, so stay peeled.

For lack of a better analogy, Pieter Hugo is the anti-Liebowitz. His photographs of rural South African life reveal a lost world inhabited by some of the world’s most disparate, yet endearing individuals. Back in the early ’90s I had the opportunity to travel through Zimbabwe and South Africa and was blown away at how resilient and resourceful the people were, and continue to be. They have the ability to make something out of nothing even in the midst of a complete social and economic breakdown.

He shrinks cities

The CityShrinker photography of Ben Thomas reminds me of Rem Koolhas’s likening of signature architecture to a tray of sugar-coated pastries. Under Thomas’s lens, the infallibility of the modern megapolis is shrunken and split into utterly delectable units of dwarfed urbanism. Towering skyscrapers become cute daydreams and the city’s human inhabitants are suddenly exposed as nothing more than a gang of sprightly ne’erdowells.
