I was on the bus once and this tiny man holding a BC Lions football helmet came up and stood next to me and struck up a conversation. He had big biceps and an icy fire in his eyes that was as endearing as it was creepy. His name? John Rambo. The dude was next-level, he explained to me how he had always wanted to play in the NFL but due to his height (5″2) his athletic ambitions had been postponed indefinitely. Then he went into an impromptu stand-up routine, an attempt to entertain the crowd no doubt, which consisted of myself, an elderly Chinese lady and two sullen university students.

He got off to a good start but then the momentum fizzled out and a few of his punchlines fell flat. The bus driver hit the brakes abruptly and Rambo smacked the back of his head against a pole. This shook him up quite a bit and he chose to exit at the next stop, I got off with him, took this photo and then we parted ways. I didn’t really get to know him well enough to make a qualitative character assessment, but he seemed like a good man and I’m very proud to have met the real John Rambo.

I like his style.

Were his man-breasts part of the act?

I saw this guy running in the BMO Half Marathon. Short people have a drive that I will never fully understand.

I rode the Skytrain with this guy once! It was at least four years ago but I remember him vividly. Did he strike the football photo pose on his own or is that your touch?
